Artist’s Statement

Painting, drawing and designing – everything where I can use my creativity – are my passion and inner need. It is a unique feeling when I manage to convey something through my images that is difficult to express in words, and when that message also touches others. I strive to evoke emotions with my works and offer the viewer insights, beauty and new perspectives.

My special expertise is photorealistic, photographically accurate technique, but my style is also characterized by breaking it with expressive brushstrokes. In this way, I combine precision and freedom of expression, which gives my works a distinctive and lively look. I work mainly with acrylic and oil paints, but I also like to experiment with new techniques. The focus of my works is often human figures, animals and nature – I am particularly fascinated by the play of light and shadow and the combination of photographic realism and abstract expression. Continuous development and discovering new things are at the core of my work – I always notice new details, tones and nuances that take my expression forward. Each work is a journey where I challenge myself towards an ever better result.

I live and work in Espoo. In addition to painting, I own a clothing brand bearing my own name and design stamps and other art products that are sold across Finland in collaboration with Finnish Post and Finnish Card Point. I want to bring my art into everyday life and make it easily accessible – that is why I also create products where art meets practicality and everyday life.
